I learned this lesson from the author of Live It!, Jairek Robbins. I knew it intellectually before but Jairek helped to instill it in my being. When I enter a situation I ask myself how I can give to whoever or whatever is involved. Whether it’s calling a friend who I think would like to hear my voice, writing a blog post or taking the time to listen to someone’s story even if I have a bunch of things to do, living by this philosophy has made my life richer than I could have ever imagined. Shifting my focus to giving has filled my life with so much more love and joy!
